Update: Emma Roberts has since apparently called and apologized, according to a Ross tweet.
Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologizing, recognizing your behavior was not that of an ally. I will leave the line open to follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform.

Original Story below

It’s been 141 days since the WGA strike began, and the powers that be may want to resolve that ASAP (they will be meeting today) because bored out-of-work writers and actors might be spending more of their time calling out co-stars and/or showrunners. There were plenty of out-of-work writers who took time recently to talk about what a toxic work environment The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is, and to be honest, I’m surprised that no one has come for Ryan Murphy yet.
That may soon change because Angelica Ross, a Ryan Murphy regular on American Horror Story and Pose, has entered the chat. First, she called out Ryan Murphy earlier this week for leaving her “on read” after Murphy proposed a season of American Horror Story starring Black women. Murphy’s proposal included Ross and potentially Keke Palmer and Gabourey Sidibe. Alas, not only did Murphy apparently drop the plan, but he never followed up with Ross, despite Ross’s efforts to reach out. Murphy ghosted her, and Ross has the emails to prove it.
Ross, who was not cast in the last two seasons of AHS, also took time yesterday to call out Murphy regular Emma Roberts for misgendering Ross in a particularly nasty way on the set of AHS: 1984.
so that’s what’s going on behind #RyanMurphy ‘s production. people wearing racist t shirts and emma roberts making THE most transphobic sh** to Angelica Ross. oh you are DONE pic.twitter.com/i3Q5uJWiot

Roberts also did not make life on the set of AHS: 1984 very fun for everyone else, either.
Angelica confirmed it was indeed Emma Roberts who was throwing her weight around set, being disruptive during Angelica’s scenes etc.

I am not surprised at all. pic.twitter.com/6xJR03dpdN
That might be why Roberts wasn’t invited to this 2019 watch party with other cast members.
This video from 2019 is quite telling now. Angelica, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern and Gus Kenworthy got together to watch the 1984 premiere sans Emma Roberts. They also called out transphobia on set. pic.twitter.com/48ucNjJFtN

Emma Roberts has long had a reputation for being difficult on-set and off — possibly why she hasn’t had any high-profile projects outside of the Ryan Murphy universe in a decade — and one wonders if she continues to get work inside of that universe because she’s being protected by Ryan Murphy, just as Ryan Murphy protected known on-set bully Lea Michele for years on the set of Glee?
Ryan Murphy is a busy man, runs a lot of shows, and has a lot of regulars. He’s powerful enough that, if you become one of his regulars, it also potentially means years of steady employment. That steady employment, however, comes with a catch: Looking the other way and/or eating sh** when confronted by difficult co-workers instead of rocking the boat and potentially risking one’s employment.
It’ll be interesting to see if Angelica Ross’s comments open the floodgates not only on Emma Roberts but potentially Ryan Murphy, too.
The funniest part? We’re all sitting around & I’m copying Cody’s accent. Didn’t know he had one. Emma then copies my voice & laugh and drops it several octaves. I was SHOOK. She read me for blood with my own words π of course I was self conscious about my voice on set after…
