ABC has unveiled its fall schedule, and while I’d like to get outraged by their decision to move two of their best sitcoms, Fresh Off the Boat and Speechless to Friday, I actually don’t really care. We live in a time-shift world, and the fact that they’re still going to air those two shows — and that their ratings will probably be better relative to the other Friday night competition — is enough for me. Beyond that, who cares?

The Monday schedule remains the same. Tuesdays do, as well, except for the additions of The Kids Are Alright (a ’70s set Irish family sitcom starring Mike Cudlitz and Mary McCormick) and The Rookie, that Nathan Fillion cop show where he starts out in the force as a 40-year-old rookie. How appropriate that they’d follow Roseanne with a family sitcom about an Irish family. I guess we’ll call that the “White Family Hour.” Black-ish is also back, as well as Splitting Up Together, which is kinda cute, actually. (Speaking of Black-ish, that better not morph into a divorce comedy).

Wednesday’s sitcom addition is Single Parents, about a group of single parents with seven-year-olds who are all friends (Taran Killam, Leighton Meester, and Brad Garrett are among the cast members). Interestingly, they did move ahead with The Goldbergs spin-off, Schooled, but it won’t begin until midseason. A Million Little Things is a drama that looks like ABC’s attempt to replicate the success of This Is Us.

Otherwise, Sunday is the only other night with a new series, The Alec Baldwin Show, a chat show because ABC is under some strange misconception that people will want to see another problematic white dude host a talk show.
