This isn’t exactly my “Roman Empire” in that I don’t think about it every day, but every single time some version of this show or concept shows back up on the History Channel I have to restrain myself from going on a 15-20 minute rant about the idiocy of it. Then I remember that for some reason, Dustin lets me talk about TV on the internet so I can just remind you all that this is completely ridiculous at least 2-3 times a season.
Beat Bobby Flay: Holiday Throwdown on Food Network at 9:00pm ET. Second season premiere. I’ll say it: most holiday-specific food is more work than it’s worth even when it tastes good. Spatchcocking a turkey definitely improves the texture and cooking time but it still doesn’t eliminate the fact that cooking a whole turkey at once is a little ridiculous.
