As much as I admire and think 2015 nominee Tatiana Maslany should win a kazillionty Emmys, I just couldn’t with all those clones. But, like you, I’ve been waiting for the powers that be to catch on and give her a proper headlining film role, and it looks like Rian Johnson might just be the guy.

According to The Wrap, Maslany is one of three actresses on the short list for 2017’s Episode VIII; after having been rumored for a Rogue One role a while back, she’s back on the Star Wars radar in a big way. And while we don’t have much information about Johnson’s nuTrilogy entry, what we do know is that Pajiba favorite and disco dancer extraordinaire…

Oscar Isaac will be reprising his Force Awakens role as Poe Dameron (Benicio Del Toro is rumored to be playing a villain).

To be fair, there are two other actresses said to be on the Episode VIII shortlist; Jane the Virgin’s Gina Rodriguez and Bates Motel and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl star, Olivia Cooke.
