It’s a light news morning, but here are three exciting casting tidbits to read while you wait for your coffee cup hand to stop shaking. (Er, just me?)

First up; Godzilla and Monsters director Gareth Edwards has leaked exactly zero clues as to what his Star Wars: Rogue One spinoff is about — all we know is he’s got Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything on board. Regardless, things just became a thousand times more interesting; there’s an offer is out to Bloodline’s incomparable Ben Mendelsohn for the male lead.

If you haven’t caught our drift as yet, this guy is an absolute powerhouse (also check him out in Animal Kingdom), and for those who’ve already finished that Netflix series, I know you’re sold on anything he does.

Next, another favorite Brit heads to a villainous Star Trek role. Luther’s Idris Elba (currently filming series 4 in London) is reportedly in talks to play the big bad in the Justin Lin helmed, third of the rebooted film franchise.

Though there are again no plot details, rumor has it that Kirk and company will face the Klingons this time around.

Finally, AMC’s Preacher has found its Irish vampire, Cassidy.

Rounding out the traveling trio of Jesse Custer (possibly Dominic Cooper) and Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga), is Misfits and Emmerdale actor, Joe Gilgun. The look is great, but how’s his Irish accent?
