Usually this recurring feature is a round-up of major assholes committing major assholery. But this morning, we have a very special edition where horrendous humans got fucked, and hard. Allow us to revel in their comeuppance.
It was a little over a week ago when a bunch of polo-shirt wearing, Tiki-torch carrying bigots took to Charlottesville, Virginia, in theory to protest the taking down of a statue of General Lee, but actually to promote a blatantly racist agenda. The media and the public have an ongoing debate on whether to call them Neo-Nazis, Neo-confederates, white nationalists, white supremacists, the new KKK, or the Alt-Right. The key thing here is these are vile bigots, and in the boldness of MAGA propaganda, they felt proud enough of their bigotry that they didn’t wear hoods or masks to hide their identities. And it turns out in the era of the internet, it’s pretty easy to find out who they are. Which means a lot of them faced repercussions for their grotesqueness.
Simply put: a bunch were fired.
Ryan Roy, who was caught on tape marching at the “rally” and chanting white-supremacist slogans, was canned from Boston-based Uno Pizzeria and Grill.

Cole White’s participation in “Unite The White Right” rally got fired from the Berkley California hot dog restaurant, Top Dog.

An unnamed employee was terminated from a grocery store in Gainesville for his (or her) participation in the heinous event.

The Twitter account @YesYoureRacist had a big hand in this, posting images and crowd-sourcing identification, and contacting of these people’s employers.

Trump’s right-hand bigot, Steve Bannon was fired from the White House, news that at first seemed too good to be true. And then you realize how dark a timeline we’re on that that’s where we are. ONE of the White House white nationalists is shitcanned and we rejoice.
.@realDonaldTrump Congrats on removing your first monument to racism! https://t.co/XF4XIQyAO3

Overheard at the WH:"He fired the Nazi!" Followed by silence… and then, "ummm which one?"

Then there’s white supremacist Nicholas Fuentes, who spoke to Time about how he’s afraid to go back to Boston University. And that was before Boston turned out in force to show just how unwelcome brazenly bigoted fucks like him are in their city.

Peter Cvjetanovic is upset that he’s become the modern poster boy for the White Power movement, so he’s done interviews to convince the world he’s not really “angry.” But he also said, “I will defend tooth and nail my views as a white nationalist. I love my culture and will fight for it but never in a violent way.”

In response, petitioners are calling for the Reno resident’s expulsion from his college, the University of Nevada.

Jerrod Kuhn of Honeoye Falls, New York, was outed as a racist shit-head by the NY-based group called Eastside Antifascists, who posted images of him from the Charlottesville white supremacy meet-ups on fliers all over his hometown with the slogan, “No Nazis in our neighborhood.” Kuhn complained, “I’m 21 years old and now my life is over in this area.”
We’d like to remind Kuhn and all the men lamenting the consequences of their actions this morning, their lives are not over. The life of Heather Heyer, who died because of one of their cohorts ran her and a slew of counter-protesters down, that’s over.

And let’s not forget that “Unite the Right” rally organizer Jason Kessler referred to Heyer’s death as “payback time” for the left.

This fetid pus on humanity deleted the tweet, then got off Twitter. Then Kessler told Fox News he’s “in hiding.” Now any Jason Kessler is getting Twitter abuse.

All this left the bigots who turned out to the Nazi gazebo party in Boston feeling pretty lonely.

Not a (known) racist, but a defiant sexist, James Damore got fired from Google after his misogynist manifesto got out. And now he’s claiming that he’s being treated like gay people were in the 1950s. Uh huh. Well, at least he’s learned nothing.
Alan Turing, well-known and hugely influential computer scientist, was forcibly chemically castrated for being gay in the 50's. https://t.co/aw4VNbSdAG
— Alex Hosselet (@AHosselet) August 17, 2017
These men are crying discrimination over their treatment here. But, no. That’s not what’s happening here. Discrimination is “the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.” They are not being treated like this because they are white men (though they’re still pedaling that logic-free “white genocide” ideninarrative). They are being fired, threatened, ostracized, and scared shitless because of their actions.
Free speech means you have the right to say whatever you want, and the government of the United States won’t stop or muzzle you. It does not mean you are free from the consequences of the stupid, hateful, bigoted shit you might say. Discrimination is being treated negatively not because of your actions, but because of a simple fact of your identity you didn’t choose, and can’t generally change. Most of us can’t just take off a polo shirt to escape prejudice, like this neo-KKK coward.
Look how he gets to walk along, anonymous, unbothered because he took off a polo shirt. That’s not how discrimination works. Black people can’t just not be black to get racists off their back. Women can’t just un-woman for a week so the misogynist at the next cubicle will STFU about how hard it is to be a guy in IT. Yet: “I’m not really White Power, man. I just came here for the fun,” says this still unidentified fuck-o. “It’s kind of a fun idea, just being able to say, ‘Hey man, white power.’”
Fuck this guy, and fuck all those like him.
They are Nazis. We should call them what they are without shame or hesitation. They are Nazis. We are fighting a Nazi uprising. pic.twitter.com/eRElWnt0bH
— Griffin Newman (@GriffLightning) August 13, 2017
They are white supremacist/neo-Nazi/neo-Confederates. And no matter how young or dapper they might look, there’s no dressing up their ideals. They believe in the separation of the races, in the superiority of white people, and—no matter what they claim—they will enact violence to achieve it. That’s why they brought torches, guns, and riot gear. It’s a threat. And taking them at their word, we’re fighting back in any way we can, which yes, includes getting them fired and publicly shaming them. These fuckers should be known. They should be ashamed. And they should be scared, because there are more of us than there are of them. And as Boston made clear, we’re ready to show up in force.
