Publisher’s Note: Earlier today, in an article that discussed Donald Trump’s tirade against Germany over NATO spending during a NATO breakfast this morning, the piece’s author, Dustin Rowles, incorrectly insinuated that the reaction on Chief of Staff John Kelly’s face reflected annoyance or irritation with Donald Trump’s statements, as evidinced in this video:

Although an expert in the Facial Action Coding System noted that Kelly’s reaction “can be described as a combination of a ‘chin-raiser’ and a ‘lip-corner dimpler,’ both of which are associated with annoyance” we have since learned from White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders that there was another explanation for the look of irritation on Kelly’s face.

In a statement to The Post, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, “[Kelly] was displeased because he was expecting a full breakfast and there were only pastries and cheese.”

We here at Pajiba apologize for the error. The shoddy reporting of Dustin Rowles does not accurately represent this publication’s values. When it comes to evaluating the source of someone’s annoyance, Pajiba is devoted to accuracy.
