During a recent interview, Zachary Levi was asked the inevitable question of whether or not he’ll return in James Gunn’s DC Universe as Shazam. Unlike previous responses where Levi made it seem like he was “safe” from the franchise-wide reboot, Levi notably didn’t have a confidence response nor did he entertain the possibility of playing another DC character. What he did do is take a crack at James Gunn hiring his brother Sean Gunn to play DC villain Maxwell Lord in Superman: Legacy. In theory, Levi’s quip was “playful,” but putting the head of DC Studios on blast for nepotism reads pretty damn salty to me. (Deadline)

Jormis’ review of Mikael Niemi’s Popular Music, set in Vittula, is as much about the shared culture of the Swedish/Finnish border as it is about the coming of age novel. “Vittula is a place; it can be translated as C*ntsville. That name - raw, uncivilized, powerful - is pure Finnish.” Is there a book that you think captures the place you are from? (Cannonball Read 15)
