It’s 93 degrees with a heat index of 106 today, and tomorrow it’s expected to be even hotter. It’s not even July and I’m officially already over summer. I hate it so much! I’m crabby and sweaty and my head hurts. As soon as I finish typing this, I’m getting a popsicle. Last night I took my husband on a date (for the 12th anniversary of our first date) to see Supergirl (and to enjoy the air conditioning!) and, well, the best thing about it was the air conditioning.
Understanding how the Supergirl movie came to be, from the writer herself, Ana Nogueira, helps explain many of the issues I had with it. But it doesn’t explain the muddled fight scenes, over-use of brown color palette, and bad CGI - (Variety)

Ellesfena has seen many excellent reviews of Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi and is sorry she waited so long to read it. “Gyasi very skillfully gets the reader to care about each character, even though we know we’ll only be with them a short time, and for the most part each one feels fully realized.” Which books do you keep meaning to read? This is now my moment of Zen.
This is Holly. Every day for the past 5 years, she picks out a stick and brings it to her favorite spot for “zen time.” While her stick may change, her routine never does. 13/10 (IG: hollythebluestaffy)
