Back in 2017, Jimmy Kimmel asked Tim Allen if he attended Trump’s first inauguration. This was his response: “You’ve got to be careful around here. You’re going to get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes. This is like ’30s Germany.” Surely, Tim Allen’s career was toast after that. Not so much! Since then, he went on to star in The Santa Clauses on Disney+, voiced Buzz Lightyear again for Toy Story 5, and now, ABC is spiking the football on the number of streams for his new sitcom, Shifting Gears. New Cannonballer Emrys found Katherine McGee’s American Royals, interesting though also head-scratching. “Imagining a world where America set up a similar system to the UK with duchys and dukes and all that is interesting. At the same time, McGee tries to paint this as a more progressive world than if we had presidents.” Which books have you enjoyed even with some questionable worldbuilding? (Cannonball Read 17)
