First things first, I don’t care how “reasonable” Cole Thomas Allen’s manifesto reads, no, it is not understandable that he felt compelled to “do something” because of the state of the country. Like Luigi, his actions are that of a madman suffering from main character syndrome. Just another crazy person in a long line of crazy people who had far too easy access to firearms. This also applies to conspiracy theories that the whole thing was “staged.” Sorry, America has no shortage of loonies who want to take a run at the president. It’s why we have the Secret Service. — Did no one watch Death By Lightning? — What Allen did accomplish is handing this administration a bucket full of sympathy points that it instantly tried to cash in on a ballroom, and for some reason, another stab at cancelling Jimmy Kimmel? In an uncharacteristic move, Melania started beating that drum early today, and it didn’t take long for Grandpa to hop aboard. (Mediaite)

Wonder Man started out as a joke pitch and look how far it’s come. Seriously, the show is fantastic. Easily the best of the whole Marvel/Disney+ experiment. (Deadline)
Andrew is dusting off his very accurate Han Solo wig for some drunk Shakespearean Star Wars (that he wrote) at the RAT in DUMBO on May 1st. Come join if you’re in the NYC area! (The Rat)

Xoxoxoe wished The Spoils of Poynton by Henry James had been shorter. “[B]ut if you enjoy James’s way with language and a small bunch of characters who never really say what they mean about a grand old British house full of supposed valuables, then give it a try.” Whose writing do you like enough to read even their not so great works? (Cannonball Read 18)
Imagine taking over Amazing Spider-Man at just 19, writing some of the most important comics ever, creating the Punisher, Carol Danvers, Jason Todd, Firestorm and Killer Croc AND writing the first Marvel/DC crossover.
A true hall-of-fame career by any measure. RIP Gerry Conway.
