For a show that went off the air almost half a decade ago, Suits had a wild 2023, to the point where most of its non-Meghan Markle cast members starred in Super Bowl commercials. Everyone loves Suits right now — or is letting it run 24/7 in the background — so Hollywood is of course trying to cash in on the craze by launching new spinoffs starting with Suits: L.A. LagiNazar finds the queerness of queer sports romances particularly satisfying so she got talked into trying some straight sports romance, the Windy City Series by Liz Tomford. “[These] books, while being easy to read and fairly well characterised [not you, book 1], rest on facile arcs and thin premises that feel all the more easily resolved because of the structural advantages of the characters’ narrative and material circumstances.” Do you have some favorite queer romances?
