For well over a year now, I’ve joked that there’s no way Taika Waititi’s Star Wars movie will see the light of day because, post-Rise of Skywalker, no Star Wars movie has seen the light of day. Lucasfilm is freaking terrified of sh*tting the bed that badly again. So imagine my surprise to learn that not only is Taika’s Star Wars movie a top contender for the December 2025 release date, but Lucasfilm reportedly took Kevin Feige’s idea out back and put it out of its misery. Would have never called that in a million years, especially coupled with the rumors that Taika is also looking to star in the film. I get the MCU is wobbly right now and Disney probably wants Feige to get his house in order, but part of that disorder can be laid at the feet of Thor: Love and Thunder so your guess is as good as mine here.
