A few weeks back, reports were flying in that the casting search for James Bond was reaching a close as Amazon-MGM narrowed the field for its new 007. At the time, it was reported that Jack Lowden, Josh O'Connor, and Callum Turner were the three finalists heading into the October 24th weekend. There were unconfirmed talks that a few other actors might be in the mix, but it's been quiet on that front until now. Turns out, Robert Pattinson secretly auditioned for Bond during the final screen tests, and so did Nicholas Hoult. I'm gonna be real here: I haven't particularly cared about this casting, but once again, Pattinson would be pretty great. The dude has the look and practically auditioned for Bond in Tenet. Don't get me wrong, I love Jack Lowden in Slow Horses so much that I actually think Bond is beneath him. As for the other two, I slogged through Disclosure Day last night, so Josh O'Connor needs to go away, and I couldn't pick Callum Turner out of a lineup with a gun to my head. That said, are you allowed to be both Batman and James Bond? That is very funny to me because I'm old enough to remember the Twilight hate from insecure dudes all over the internet. Edward Cullen played the long game, and he is eating everyone's lunch. I love it. (THR)
