So, I Take It Anne Hathaway & Nicole Kidman Aren’t Close?

Tom Cruise has been teasing a Days of Thunder sequel for a while now, and he made that official on Saturday with a surprising piece of casting: Anne Hathaway will play the female lead/presumed love interest. As everyone knows, Tom met Nicole Kidman on the set of the first film. She is notably not returning for obvious reasons. Anne Hathaway is on fire right now, and if anything, Tom needs her more than she needs him. This all feels weird. - (THR)

Randy Quaid, who co-starred in Days of Thunder, and is always full of sanity and good advice (Do I need to add the sarcasm tag here? Because I don’t think I do.), took to XformallyTwitter to let Cruise know that casting Hathaway was a “horrible choice” and “The sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole.” Sure, buddy. - (EW)
