I’m not allowed to write whole columns about why I think The Batman Part II is cancelled anymore, but Dustin never said I couldn’t make it the Pajiba Love opener! However, the joke’s on me because this thing’s starting to look like it’s happening. During Sunday night’s Emmy awards, Matt Reeves revealed two pretty big items: Robert Pattinson has read The Batman II script, and hey, maybe The Penguin will get a Season 2 after all. So, yeah, there’s a lot of egg on my face. That said, there are some potential swerves up ahead. The Robert Battinson-verse could still merge with the DCU, which at this stage, could be done pretty seamlessly. There’s also the existential crisis of what DC Studios will still look like should Paramount merge with Warner Bros. That last one gives me a whole lot of pause. (Variety)

Duana is happy for Seth Rogen, but she thinks The Studio is a little too accurate to enjoy as a satire. (Lainey Gossip)

Taylor Swift is now hiding her presence at Chiefs games? OK. (Celebitchy)

Is Kash too good at FBI-ing? (Wonkette)

From Jen: Civil rights photographer Cecil Williams steals the show during NY Fashion Week. (What I’m Reading)

The Kpop Demon Hunter composer is making a Baby-sitters Club musical. (Deadline)

From Roxana: Ever notice how the Coen Brothers films feel like The Far Side cartoons? Here’s a neat thread. (Bluesky)

HBO will really test how much Game of Thrones you want next year. (Gizmodo)

From Chris: Fresh off the SPAM New Media Festival in Seattle comes MAMMON.exe, a digital altar for communing with consumerist gods. (MAMMON.exe)

Jamie Lee Curtis didn’t have to do all that. (Daily Beast)

Elderberrywine picked up The Bullet Swallower by Elizabeth Gonzalez James hoping for something like Mexican Gothic, but this family drama mixed with magical realism is its own thing. “Violent and gory, but very entertaining.” Do you have any books lined up for Hispanic Heritage Month? (Cannonball Read 17)
