Hey, folks, just want to give a shout-out to Dustin for covering last night’s column. The small little hamlet where I live got absolutely wrecked by what was almost definitely a microburst. Although, some folks are convinced it was a tornado. The jury’s still out. At any rate, my son and I got pinned in the Target parking lot as basically every power line in town got snapped in half. Do not recommend, and you could hear everyone’s butt cheeks clench this afternoon when another storm rolled in. Anyway, I’m back. You can stop the candlelight vigil, which was very touching. Thank you. — It was actually for some cat? Fair enough.

Le Guin.“This story is a meditation on mob mentality, the abstraction of suffering away from our eyes, exploitation, and the illusions we hold as a group.” Have you read either of these short stories?
