Through no fault of her own, the MCU has been falling to pieces around Iman Vellani, who has done yeoman’s work in shouldering two projects that would have completely fallen apart without her being a freaking delight: Ms. Marvel and The Marvels. Her performance in the latter is damn near infectious, which makes it a shame that The Marvels bombed at the box office. Fortunately, Marvel has assured Vellani that she will return, which is probably one of the few smart decisions the studio has made in a long time. Put her in a movie that actually has time to cook and isn’t filled with slap-dash CGI, and you will have a goddamn hit on your hands. Guarantee it. (Polygon)
