As Tori noted in her recap of the Loki Season 2 finale, contrary to Variety’s reporting, the final episode did not strap Marvel to a Jonathan Majors bomb by going big on setting up Kang the Conqueror as a multiversal threat. In fact, it did just the opposite. The finale made it easier than ever for Marvel to just forget about the character, and that’s reportedly the road it’s taking. According to former Pajiba writer and best-selling MCU expert Joanna Robinson, screenwriter Jeff Loveness has reportedly been removed from Avengers: Kang Dynasty because Marvel is “moving away from the Kang story.” If that is the case, expect Marvel to sweep a lot of its problems under the rug by announcing Doctor Doom as the big bad for Avengers: Secret Wars and distracting everyone with the X-Men.
