I’m going to level with you: I’ve been fighting through a nightmare of perimenopause symptoms one after another after another, on top of ADHD symptoms that the aforementioned peri has exacerbated. After finally getting the right combination of HRT and ADHD meds, it felt like — after almost 10 years — I could see the light at the end of the tunnel!
It turned out the light was a train. And that train was driven by emmereffing Donald Trump. So. It hasn’t been a great 6 months. This weekend was shocking and yet not surprising. We try to keep the vibe in Pajiba Love light. We try to keep this an area that’s kind of an escape or an oasis in a sea of political overwhelm for people, but sometimes it’s just too much to avoid.

I haven’t lived in San Diego for nearly 30 years, but I still follow Representative Sara Jacobs on social media, partly because she’s fantastic (she really is!) and partly because I remember her (and her siblings and cousins) when she was a little girl, playing at the Lawrence Family JCC. Ingres77 had a hard time with everything after November 6, 2024, but he’s starting to recover and has several books he read last year to recommend, including The Hustler by Walter Tevis and Larry McMurtry’s Horseman, Pass By and The Last Picture Show. “I don’t know that these two writers have a great deal in common, but there was something about reading one after the other that just made sense.” Have you read either of these authors?
