Christopher Nolan will not be developing or working on any projects until the strikes are over. “This is about jobbing actors, this is about staff writers on television programs trying to raise a family, trying to keep food on the table.” (IndieWire)

On a related note, do not cancel your streaming services or boycott movies to support the strikes. Neither union wants that, and in fact, it will only make things worse for them. — As always, pirating TV shows and movies isn’t helping anybody but your wallet. You’re not sticking it to the man. You’re just a cheap bastard. — However, if you want to do something that’s actually helpful and performative, you can donate to the Entertainment Community Fund and then make a big deal about how much you dropped. It’ll make the whole thing all about you. Go nuts! (Twitter)

A Quick Word on Paywalled Links: I’ve noticed a small handful of you have expressed frustration with certain sites being paywalled. Here’s the situation on that: It is not something we try to do on purpose or the result of “not checking the links.” Thanks to variances in browsers, devices, or how often someone’s visited a site, there’s no way to know for sure if someone is going to hit a paywall. If we read something interesting, we’re going to err toward sharing it and hoping you find a way to access it. It’s pretty much all we can do in these buttwater digital media days. Good talk.
