So, let’s guzzle down some random internet nonsense. In the final stretch before the election, Adam McKay started openly endorsing Jill Stein, and now, he’s making a big stink about how he’s leaving the Democratic Party for not running a progressively pure campaign that checked all the online boxes. Here’s the thing: not a goddamn piece of data we saw last night suggests tacking to the Left was a winning strategy. And let me be clear, I do not blame the Free Palestine movement for Kamala losing. Not one single bit. This had nothing to do with our intra-party squabbles and everything to do with ancient evils like misogyny and a patriarchal hard-on for theocratic rule. For Chrissakes, Latinos voted for the guy who promised to deport them, and white women chose a rapist who took away their reproductive rights. Socialism and Gaza were never going to be the magic bullet here.
