Well, this is sweet: Jimmy Tatro — that dude from American Vandal, Home Economics, Modern Family, You’re Cordially Invited, and the forthcoming Scream 7 — is now engaged to Zoey Deutch. Deutch is the daughter of Lea Thompson and Howard Deutch, best known for directing ’80s movies like Some Kind of Wonderful (starring Thompson) and John Hughes’ Pretty in Pink. For the record, though Thompson starred in Howard the Duck, the film otherwise has no relationship to Howard Deutch.
Actually, and with all due respect to Glen Powell, Zoey should’ve been the breakout star of Netflix’s charming romcom Set It Up, and if the world were more just, Deutch would be the Meg Ryan of the 2020s. But the world is not just, romcoms are still scarce, and Deutch hasn’t had a big hit since Zombieland: Double Tap.
But she’s doing fine. Even better now that she and Tatro are engaged after four years of dating. Deutch and Tatro have been engaged for three months, and make for an adorable couple.
The two went public with their dating life on Valentine’s Day in 2021, and Deutch has described Tatro as her “polar opposite” on a podcast. My takeaway from this photo is that she’s also a Costco shopper and understands the value of buying in bulk.
