The Title of the John Candy Documentary Alone May Make You Cry

Colin Hanks has been talking about this John Candy documentary he’s been making for what seems like years. It’s finally coming out (with producer Ryan Reynolds, who is well-suited as a fellow Canadian). Colin Hanks being who he is, he was able to basically talk to everyone about John Candy, from his Dad to Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Conan, Bill Murray, Catherine O’Hara, and even Macaulay Culkin.

But he also talks to John Candy’s kids, which brings even more personal insight to the project, and seeing his daughter Jennifer get teary is touching all by itself. The movie is going to be devastating. I know, because the trailer is hard to watch, and when it clicks that the title of the documentary, “I Like Me,” comes from that Planes, Trains, and Automobiles scene, well, the waterworks may begin.
