Ruth Ware is giving Harlan Coben a run for his money on Netflix. The Woman In Cabin 10, which made Dustin’s list of best books this summer, premieres today, October 10th, on the streaming service.
The film stars Keira Knightley, Hannah Waddingham, Guy Pearce, David Morrissey, Daniel Ings (The Gentlemen), Kaya Scodelario (Crawl), David Ajala (Star Trek: Discovery), and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
A House of Dynamite is director Kathryn Bigelow’s latest. I don’t know if we need the anxiety of nuclear proliferation back in our lives at this moment in history. But I’m going to let her cook because Bigelow creates very compelling, thoughtful films about warfare. I wouldn’t mind if she went back to vampire movies occasionally, though.
A House of Dynamite stars Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, and Jason Clarke.
It opens in theaters today, October 10th, and then premieres on Netflix on October 24th.
Then there’s this heavy-handed piece of work, one of two movies titled Safe House to be released this year. This one is about a bunch of secret agents locked in, you guessed it, a safe house until they can figure out which one of them is a terrorist.
Holt McCallany, Ethan Embry, Hannah John-Kamen, Zan Gomes-Headley (Dear White People), Lucien Laviscount (The Bye Bye Man), Adam Levy (The Witcher), and Jasmine Luv star in Safe House.
If I were going to put money on who the bad guy is, it’s gotta be Holt. Right?
Safe House will be released on October 31st.
This week’s lagniappe is Hiroshi Miyamoto’s next directing project. Death Stranding Mosquito is the working title. He can probably do better than that, right?
