Three Trailers: Peter Dinklage’s Unhinged Horror Comedy, Guy Ritchie’s 'Mobland,' and a Creepy Alison Brie Thriller

I don’t know how to solve the world’s problems. Sometimes, I think we’ll need an invasion from outer space to bring us all together or some catastrophic world event like a meteor strike or a supervillain setting off an EMP that takes out all of our electrical power. But maybe we just need to watch Peter Dinklage take a toxic mop to a bad guy’s face.

The dark black horror comedy has been sitting on a shelf since 2023, but it’s finally getting distribution in August. It did not sit on shelves because it was bad — it boasts a 92 percent on RT from the critics who saw it a film festival in 2023 — but because it was “unreleasable” due to violence and gore, which is probably reason enough for some of us to run to theaters. In addition to Dinklage, it stars Kevin Bacon, Jacob Tremblay, Jane Levy, and Elijah Wood, among others.

The new Paramount+ series, Mobland, is “from the Underworld of Guy Ritchie.” He really does have a singular focus, doesn’t he? But Ritchie is only directing two of the show’s ten episodes. The credit for creating and writing the show goes to Ronan Bennett who was behind last year’s Day Of The Jackal.

Mobland stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Gemma Knight Jones, Paddy Considine, and Mandeep Dhillon (CSI: Vegas). The series begins streaming March 30th on Paramount+.

This trailer for Neon’s Together, starring IRL couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco, gets creepier and creepier as it continues. But it’s set to such a pleasant piece of music! How bad can it get? Just kidding! You can’t fool me Neon. I know your tricks.

Together is in theaters beginning August 1st.

We made a lot of jokes in the Pajiba Slack about this week’s lagniappe, The Bondsman. Some of my favorites were “Kevin Bacon is Southern Fried Constantine in…” “6 Million Degrees of Kevin Bacon,” and “Kevin Bacon is the less flammable Ghost Rider in…”

I didn’t say they were good jokes (see also this week’s headline.)
