“I will have Elon Musk run out of here by Inauguration Day,” the worst person you know said last Wednesday in an Italian newspaper. “He is a truly evil guy, a very bad guy. I made it my personal thing to take this guy down,” he added. “Before, because he put money in, I was prepared to tolerate it; I’m not prepared to tolerate it anymore.”
In the interview via Mediaite, the worst person you know continued to take issue with Elon Musk’s support of H-1B visas, which created a rift between Musk and Laura Loomer last month. “This thing of the H-1B visas, it’s about how the entire immigration system is gamed by the tech overlords. They use it to their advantage, and the people are furious.”
H-1B visas are an excellent way to recruit highly skilled talent from around the world. On the other hand, those who hold H-1B visas are often beholden to their employers in a relationship resembling indentured servitude.
In the interview, the worst person you know also took aim at two other tech moguls who—like Musk—have roots in apartheid South Africa. “Peter Thiel, David Sacks, Elon Musk, they’re all white South Africans. He should go back to South Africa. Why do we have South Africans, the most racist people on earth, white South Africans, making any comments at all about what goes on in the United States?”
The irony here is rich, considering who the worst person you know is, but he’s also not entirely wrong. He also expressed disgust with Musk for using the r-word to refer to Americans who disagreed with him about H-1B visas in a now-deleted tweet. “He went out of his way to mock our movement as racist and retards, and he lost,” the worst person said. “We blew him out of the water. He won’t fight. He’s got the maturity of a little boy.”
That is … correct. Also possibly correct is the worst person’s assertion that Musk’s “sole objective is to become a trillionaire.”
“He will do anything to make sure that any one of his companies is protected or has a better deal or he makes more money. His aggregation of wealth, and then—through wealth—power: that’s what he’s focused on.” After criticizing Musk’s ties to China, the worst person you know also called the owner of X “a total and complete phony who is owned lock, stock, and barrel by the Chinese Communist Party, and he acts like it.”
The worst person you know is: Steve Bannon, the former chief advisor to Donald Trump, who pardoned him after he was indicted for federal fraud and money laundering. He nevertheless spent four months in prison for contempt of Congress. He has spent years pushing racist, sexist, xenophobic, and antisemitic rhetoric, and many believe he was the architect of Trump’s first White House victory.
The enemy of your enemy is still your enemy.
As always, we use images of Lee Pace in lieu of Elon Musk for aesthetic reason, with apologies to Lee Pace. I also cannot wait to see him in ‘Running Man’ later this year, if only so we have some new Lee Pace images from which to choose.
