Elijah Wood has been acting onscreen for a long time. His career is something that we take for granted. He always gives it his all when he shows up in something, has appeared in some seminal films, and the dude took all of his Lord of the Rings money and spent the years since getting a lot of low-budget, indie projects made. He rules. But, with a career so massive, it’s understandable if someone doesn’t know everything that he has done. That was certainly the case with Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Gellar and Wood were doing press for the new film Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. It should be called Ready or Not 2 or Ready or Not: Here I Come, but who am I to judge? Despite it receiving kind of mixed reviews, I will be happily seated for that bloody sequel the first chance I get. I loved the first one, and this sequel upped the game by adding a bunch of talented actors (presumably for more cannon fodder), which led to SMG revealing she didn’t know Ejilah Wood was in Back to the Future 2.

The Back to the Future movies were huge in my house growing up, as was The Good Son, so I was very much aware that Elijah Wood was in the second film. But Gellar, who has clearly seen the movie several times, was completely caught off guard when it was brought up during an interview. The genuine shock on her face is very funny to see, as Wood explains his role to her in a way that feels like he’s had to repeat for the better part of four decades. It’s pretty wholesome.

It’s also nice to see a moment like this happen between two co-workers while they are participating in such a tedious aspect of their jobs. There are worse ways to make a buck, but sitting in the same room for most of the day and answering the same questions over and over again can be a chore and a half. This looks to break up the monotony and shows that they clearly like each other.

This video just made me happy. I love the Back to the Future movies and have wanted to rewatch them recently, but I’m waiting until my kids are a little bit older to watch them with them. So, it was fun to dip into that world for a moment, even if in a peripheral manner.
