Quentin Tarantino Can't Believe One Artist Would Dare Attack Another

Back in December, Quentin Tarantino kicked off a still simmering news cycle after he randomly attacked Paul Dano during an episode of Brett Easton Ellis’ podcast. Here’s what he said verbatim: “[Dano] is weak sauce, man. He is the weak sister. Austin Butler would have been wonderful in that role. He’s just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. The weakest f***ing actor in SAG.”

Hollywood was quick to rush to Dano’s defense while Tarantino crawled back under his rock. Not a peep and certainly not an apology. Well, quiet time is over. Tarantino got a taste of his own medicine when Rosanna Arquette made the following remarks about Pulp Fiction to The Sunday Times:

“It’s iconic, a great film on a lot of levels. But personally I am over the use of the N-word — I hate it. I cannot stand that he [Tarantino] has been given a hall pass. It’s not art, it’s just racist and creepy.”

You’re never going to believe who took offense to that. In a statement blasted out to every media outlet on the planet, Tarantino tore into Arquette for having the nerve to insult another artist. Who even does that? Are we not all part of la familia de cinema?

I hope the publicity you’re getting from 132 different media outlets writing your name and printing your picture was worth disrespecting me and a film I remember quite clearly you were thrilled to be a part of?

Do you feel this way now?

Very possibly.

But after I gave you a job, and you took the money, to trash it for what I suspect is very cynical reasons, shows a decided lack of class, no less honor.

There is supposed to be an esprit de corps between artistic colleagues.

But it would appear the objective was accomplished.

To save everyone the rush, it is not lost on me that Quentin sat meekly in the corner while Paul Thomas Anderson, George Clooney, Matt Reeves, Ethan Hawke and other Hollywood men read him for filth for what he did to Paul Dano. But Rosanna Arquette speaks up, and suddenly Quentin’s at his laptop frothing at the mouth in less than 24 hours? Gosh, I wonder what the difference is.

Did she not show her feet in the photos? I bet it’s that.
