The 'Project Hail Mary' Trailer Looks Terrific

Andy Weir’s follow-up to The Martian, the sci-fi novel Project Hail Mary is a great read (the audiobook, in particular, as read by Ray Porter). I’ll reluctantly admit that the trailer for the film looks even better. Not just because it has Ryan Gosling — although that, too — but becuase directors Chirtopher Miller and Phil Lord (the Spider-Verse movies, the 21 Jump Street movies, etc.) and screenwriter Drew Goddard seem to have injected more comedy into it, or at least more comedy than I remember from the book.

The result is a really fun trailer for what looks like a really fun movie that, unfortunately, is nine months away.

Project Hail Mary arrives in theaters in March 2026. In addition to Gosling, it also stars Sandra Hüller, Ken Leung, and Liz Kingsman.
