YouTubers MrBeast, Logan Paul, and KSI recently teamed up to create Lunchly, a “healthier” alternative to Kraft Heinz’s Lunchables—which shouldn’t be too difficult. Lunchables basically consist of processed meat, discs of preservatives they call bread, flavorless shredded American cheese, and a snack-sized Crunch bar. The rich kids get the version with a Capri Sun and a plastic straw that doubles as a cafeteria shiv.
The bar for “healthier alternatives” isn’t exactly high. Yet, the Lunchly meal kits are already facing backlash due to claims of mold contamination.
Specifically, influencer Rosanna Pansino, who reviewed Lunchly on her channel, discovered mold in the cheese portion of their pizza kit, despite the product being months away from its expiration date. I don’t know who Pansino is, but after watching her for three minutes, I’m a fan.
After Pansino aired her concerns, several other customers posted similar complaints online. Lunchly responded, claiming that their products undergo strict health inspections before release. Yet, the mold complaints persist. It’s probably because meals packaged like this and sent to grocery stores, meant to remain edible for months, require a certain amount of preservatives—which is part of what makes them unhealthy.
Lunchly markets itself as a fun, grab-and-go lunch option with fewer calories and more electrolytes, featuring items like turkey stackers, nachos, and pizza kits, often paired with a “Prime Hydration drink” and “MrBeast Feastables chocolate bar,” which sound like products manufactured by AI that specializes in grift.
Please don’t feed your children foods produced by influencers. Leave the processed foods to the professionals.
