I’ve only listened to a few episodes of Good Hang with Amy Poehler, but each one has been a delight. It is exactly what the title promises: a good hang. My wife and I have listened to it on several long drives to help pass the time. We recently watched the episode with Cole Escola on a lazy Wednesday night. My wife legitimately texted me right before I started writing this, saying, “Ryan Coogler is on Amy Poehler’s podcast. We can watch that one together!” Yes, please!

Each time we’ve listened, I’ve been enamored with how laid-back the whole endeavor is. And to be clear, it’s not that way out of laziness. The show merely delivers on the central premise. That’s why it feels so joyous and personal. The casual nature, ironically, makes it such an engaging listen. The podcast went on to win the Golden Globe for Best Podcast, an award I did not know existed. But hey, good for them! I don’t care about the Golden Globes, but it seems like a nice and harmless thing to do. So, of course, Megyn Kelly is mad about it.

The former FOX News host is someone whom I regularly forget exists. I say regularly, because she still gets forced in front of my face on occasion, and I’m forced to remember. More often than not, she is forced upon my eyes because she’s saying something abhorrently racist or hateful. This time, she just sounds petty, as she decided to complain about Amy Poehler’s win for all the dweeby reasons you may expect, and she sounds pretty jealous.

“Amy Poehler won. That’s no shock, they gave it to one of their own,” Kelly complained, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. “Yeah, tracks. And it’s because she really has a really, really insightful podcast, which you really feel enriched after watching. I mean, I’ve never watched it, but this is what I hear, and when I watch the clips, I thought, ‘My God, what am I missing?’” Most of her quote is laden with sarcasm. It’s pretty funny to admit right out of the gate that you just don’t get it. She doesn’t really have anything constructive to say. She’s just mad.

What makes it even funnier (and makes it smack of jealousy) is that she also claims to have withdrawn her own podcast from consideration for the awards. Megyn, if you don’t want to be involved, why do you care who wins? You can’t get mad that they gave it to “one of their own” when they asked you to participate. But that’s what grifters do. They create a “problem” for themselves and then blame it on others. It’s pretty embarrassing. Usually, I’d probably ignore something like this, but if Megyn wants attention for being petty, it’s all hers.
