As we do with so many of del Toro’s projects, we’ve been talking about Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for a long time. The anticipation is part of the fandom!
With the same eye for bold, luxurious colors and textures he brought to Crimson Peak, Pan’s Labyrinth and his other phantasmagorical tales, del Toro has brought new life to this genre-defining tale of a man and his misunderstood monster.
Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz, and Mia Goth all star in what promises to be a feast for the eyes that, according to Lindsay’s TIFF review, hews more closely to the original text than recent adaptations.
Frankenstein will have a limited theatrical release beginning October 17th and will start streaming on Netflix on November 5th.
