Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and the step-son of Reba McEntire, has passed away after a three-year battle with cancer, according to PEOPLE. He was 48.
Clarkson had hinted at his illness earlier this week, canceling her Vegas shows because of Blackstock’s illness. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote on Instagram yesterday.
Blackstock had worked as a talent manager, representing Clarkson, Rascal Flatts, Carly Pearce, and Blake Shelton. After eight years of marriage, Clarkson and Blackstock went through a very public divorce, which was finalized in 2022. Blackstock leaves behind two children with Clarkson and two older children from a previous marriage.
May his memory be a blessing.
