BJ Novak's TikTok Star Girlfriend Delaney Rowe Is Very Funny

We learned this week that B.J. Novak is dating a TikTok star, which, for people over the age of, say, 35, comes with certain connotations because we’re old and we can’t say TikTok without a disparaging or patronizing tone. I suspect, however, that people under the age of 35 are wondering, “Why is Delaney Rowe dating a supporting character in an old comedy that everyone watched during COVID?”

As far as relevance goes, the biggest thing that B.J. Novak has probably done since The Office was to write a children’s book, The Book with No Pictures, that admittedly will probably continue to sell a decent number of copies for decades to come (it’s a very fun book for parents to read to kids). Delaney Rowe, on the other hand, has 3 million TikTok followers (and another 1 million on Instagram), and appearing in traditional movies or television shows might be considered slumming it for her.

She’s also very funny. I spent an hour going through her videos, most of which are clever parodies of popular tropes in romcoms, television shows, and even commercials. Here’s her take, for instance, on the overly cool, down-to-Earth parents in every high school movie (or basically Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci in Easy A):

According to PEOPLE, the two are now officially dating. They were spotted together late last year, sparking rumors on social media. Apparently, they are serious enough now to warrant an announcement in a gossip magazine. Good luck to the attractive, modestly successful couple with a 16-year age difference.
