The Sex and the City sequel/spin-off, And Just Like That, will wrap up its run at the end of this season—in a few weeks. Last night, HBO Max aired the 10th episode, and showrunner Michael Patrick King has extended the season with a two-part finale. At that point, the show’s done.

“While I was writing the last episode of ‘And Just Like That…’ season 3,” Michael Patrick King revealed in a statement, “it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys, and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

That’s probably the right choice. It’s been mostly a hate-watch this season (and honestly, since the beginning, but even more so this season), and it feels like it’s botched the Aidan storyline completely. I suspect, however, that the final two episodes will bring him back (and address their break-up last week) and put a bow on it. Or maybe Carrie will end the series single.

A shame, though, about all the other characters—like Seema—who have mostly been given short shrift this season and may not get the send-offs they deserve. Mostly I’m talking about Harry.

There are two episodes remaining, and the series finale will air on August 14th.
