I’ve told you all about the groundbreaking musical Hamilton and why you should all check it out before. However, that write-up focused mostly on the actual songs and story of the musical. The other reason that Hamilton is amazing is because creator Lin-Manuel Miranda has also worked to create an incredible relationship with the fans of the show on Twitter as well as in the short street performances the cast does for crowds lined up for the ticket lottery called “Ham4Ham.” They’ve been doing it since the show was in previews. Yesterday’s performance featured all three actors who have portrayed King George in the show lip synching to “The Schuyler Sisters” and was led by Renee Elise Goldberry as Miranda himself is sick.

There’s been other great ones, this is the show from September 11th when they showcased the tech crew on the show by having the stage manager show all the behind the scenes coordination that happens to make the show move.

Some are a little goofier, this is Okieriete Onaodowan singing “Defying Gravity” as Mickey Mouse.

And sometimes they give fans the chance to show off their skills, something that probably most obsessive fans have fantasized about before.

If you search #Ham4Ham on YouTube you’ll get dozens of videos just like that, giving the lottery hopefuls not only a (very slim) chance to win cheap tickets to see Hamilton but a show just for coming out to support them.
