“I always feel like a superhero,” said five-year-old part-time Batman, Zavi Ahmed, “But that day was special.”
Zavi was minding his own business, dressed as Batman with his two-year-old brother Nadeen, suited up as Superman, when the chance to be a real life hero presented itself.
A pair of grandparents in Uckfield, East Sussex had accidentally locked their infant granddaughter in the car. It was a dangerously hot day, and though the police had been called, they proved helpless confronted by the constraints of the two-doored Volkswagen Beetle. The back window had been busted out, but no adult could squeeze through or reach the door handle or keys. Frantic and flustered, they turned to this pint-sized Dark Knight with impeccable timing.
Once a cloth was laid down to cover the glass, Batman scooted in through the broken window, grabbing the keys off the dashboard, and nobly rescuing the trapped baby! Day saved. And internet meme proved true.
I recommend you check out all the photos of Zavi and his diaper-wearing damsel in distress at MotorTorque. They do the soul good.
Kristy Puchko appreciates casual cosplay.
