Pixel Art is the Perfect Post-Thanksgiving Treat

Every single year I forget when Thanksgiving is. Without fail. Up until yesterday, I kept thinking this was a personal failing. I write for an American site—surely I should know when one of their major holidays is! But then I found out, to my astonishment, that Thanksgiving doesn’t fall on a fixed date. Instead, it’s always the fourth Thursday of November (or whatever it is)! No wonder I can’t ever remember it since you guys apparently schedule holidays like most people do board meetings.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a peaceful moment to enjoy the company of friends and family—not everyone is fortunate enough to get those—and I come bearing gifts to aid in soothing the Thanksgiving hangover: A procession of pixel art, one of my personal favourite styles of visual art. There’s just something so soothing and evocative yet melancholy and reflective about it when it’s done right, it completely transports me. Here, I hope it can do some good for you too:
