A Time-Saving 'Hamilton' Rendition For Our Busy Lives
Sure, you could see Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit Broadway show, which now is in, like, a half dozen major cities. But he’s not performing in it anymore, and it’s still pretty pricey. You could listen to the cast recording, but then you can’t see his over-excited face. Also, let’s face it — we’re busy, and that seems like a lot of time to devote to “the arts.”
(I’m clearly being sarcastic, I listen to the album all the time and I’d trade a tit for tickets to the show)
Anyway, there is a solution! Here is the perfect rendition of Hamilton to fit into your poor, city-less, time-less lives, thanks to Ellen DeGeneres! She got him to walk us all through the plot of Hamilton in an exhaustive 3-minute one man show, with an assist by 7-year-old presidential expert Macey Hensley, for her “Show Me More Show” on YouTube.
There’s some fast talking, a little light singing, some jazz hands, fake quotes from famous dead people, and some helpful factoids about presidents. You’ll walk away able to namecheck some of the bigger songs from the show — and really, isn’t that all you need these days?
*insert super-cool “I wanna be in the room where it happens” joke…
