This weekend’s release of Deadpool has been a surprise and delight for many of us. It’s on track to be the first R-rated movie to have a $100 million+ opening weekend since 2002 and has been delighting audiences across this great nation of ours. Except for when it’s horrifying them because they didn’t realize that they made comic book movies like THAT and mistakenly brought their children with them. Well, kids gotta learn about the world somehow.
It’s already been announced that there will be a Deadpool 2 so we’ll all get another highly satisfying dose of Ryan Reynolds as the merc with a mouth sometime in the hopefully not too distant future. But who will be playing the villain? 63-year-old actor Stephen Lang is ready and willing to step into the role of Cable and he’s telling everyone who will listen:
Let's lay some CABLE. You know I want it. This is pre-training. Thanks for spreading the word. #Deadpool pic.twitter.com/jI1Y1i0oH0

He’s also been retweeting the support of others who see him in the role, many of whom are tagging Ryan Reynolds as well:
@VancityReynolds Deadpool was AWESOME! Blew my mind! I refuse to see Deadpool 2 if @IAmStephenLang isn't Cable. pic.twitter.com/K1fQiWcNpX

It’s not the craziest tactic. The first Deadpool movie was essentially willed into being by Reynolds himself and comic book fans. Twitter might be the best place to start if you want to score an audition. So what do you think? Is Lang right for Cable or is there another choice you have in mind?
