Coolest News of the Day: Martin Freeman Joins Captain America: Civil War
Holy, just when you thought you couldn’t love him more, the adorable, brilliant, master-of-a-thousand-facial-expressions, Martin Freeman is now a Marvel man. Let’s see, Sherlock, Fargo, The Hobbit — just about the only of our favorite things he hasn’t jumped into is Game of Thrones and a Marvel movie.
Here’s the press release:
“Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” has added another name to its growing cast with Martin Freeman, who will make his debut in the film.
‘From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in The Office, Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us,’ said Captain America: Civil War Producer Kevin Feige. ‘We couldn’t be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.’”
Us, either! Yes, we’ll have Cap Ass…
and Martin Freeman in the same universe.
But of course, Marvel is giving no clues yet as to the role Freeman will be playing, so I leave it to you to start the speculating right now.
Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Chadwick Boseman, Jeremy Renner, and Elizabeth Olsen and Daniel Bruhl (as Baron Helmut Zemo); it’s out May 6, 2016.
