Did You Catch 'Broad City's Reference To 'The Sandlot' Last Night?

We know you caught their ravenous love for the Whoopi Goldberg classic Sister Act, because it was big, brassy, and beautiful as Abbi’s sweet ass. But did you catch Broad City’s cold open nod to that other ’90s classic The Sandlot?

We open on a victorious moment for Abbi (played by Abbi Jacobson). She has finally been promoted from pube-removing cleaner to pool aerobics trainer! Sure, it’s for a bunch of grey hairs, but she’s having fun with it. And then, potential tragedy strikes when one old man is revealed face-down in the water!

Dude was faking it to get up close and personal with his hot swim instructor’s mouth. When Abbi realized he’s “a dirty liar,” she hollers at Squints that she’s going to rat out his nastiness to his granddaughter.

Squints.

As in the bespectacled geek who took to the public pool’s diving board, because the hot lifeguard’s oiling and lotioning and oiling was frying his pubescent brain with desire.
