SPOILERS
Our venerable Game of Thrones recappers and analysts will get into the details of tonight’s episode, “The Door,” over the next few days, and break down what it all means for the future of the series. For many of us, however, what it means is simply that Hodor is gone. We finally found out what Hodor means, and it comes in the saddest, most heartbreaking scene of the series:
He was meant to hold the door for Bran. He did his job. The White Walkers devoured him.
RIP Hodor (probably. There’s some time-travel issues that will probably be ignored, but may be dealt with in a future episode).
Twitter, naturally, was devastated.
