Forces are coming together, Houses are aligning, and old friends are returning in tonight’s Game of Thrones, “A Broken Man.” We’ll have more on the episode throughout the week, but first a quick Twitter reaction to one of the more inscrutable points in the episode. We were all very happy to see that Sandor Clegane still alive, working with a peaceful group led by a septon played by Ian McShane.
The confusion, comes, however, when the Brotherhood without Banners — an outlaw group working against Lannister interests in the Riverlands — appeared and slaughtered the entire religious community, hanging the septon. The Hound survived, however, and he’s angry. He’ll almost certainly make it his life’s mission to take out the Brotherhood.
The confusion comes because the Brotherhood were meant to be good guys, but here they are slaughtering an entire peaceful community. Why?
That’s what has left Twitter confused. Is there something more going on here?
Guys why did they brotherhood attack innocents? they are supposed to protect the common folk not slaughter them.#GameofThrones

In the books, the Brotherhood does precede the arrival of Lady Stoneheart, which has many on Twitter excited that a certain dead Stark will soon return.

So if the Brotherhood without Banners has turned bad, terrorizing the country folk, could it be that a certain lady arrives? #GameofThrones

This is a particularly interesting theory.
I think Arya will die, but the Brotherhood Without Banners will revive her. Thus making Arya Lady Stoneheart. #GameOfThrones

Some folks are less concerned about the resurrection of a certain character and more concerned about the fate of the Brotherhood once The Hound takes up arms against them.
I still can't believe how the hell did The Hound survive. I want to see that showdown with the Brotherhood. #GameOfThrones
