Winter Might be a Long Time Coming, But Con of Thrones is Almost Here

It’s been a weird spring without Game of Thrones, right? Despite the avalanche of amazing television that we have gotten in these months, it’s just not quite the same without a return to Westeros. And while the new season is coming it feels like it’s not quite coming soon enough. July 16th is still a very long way off. But, in the meantime, there’s something else you can do. You can come to Con of Thrones in Nashville from June 30th to July 2nd.

Held at the Gaylord Opryland resort in Nashville, this Con will have EVERYTHING. Syrio, Ramsay, Melisandre, Shireen, and Marcella #1 are all going to be there, as well as Language Creator David Peterson and Weapons Mater Tommy Dunne. That’s not even the full list of special guests, so you should go take a look yourself. There’s also an amazing full schedule of fan and expert-led panels all three days, along with concerts, a huge marketplace, and oh yeah I’ll be there leading two panels and Joanna Robinson of A Cast of Kings, A Storm of Spoilers, Vanity Fair, and also Pajiba once upon a time will be there too. My panels are going to be an expansion on the empty houses of Westeros (on the show) and another one analyzing Cersei’s ability to consolidate power in her own name as compared to one of Medieval history’s most powerful women, Eleanor of Aquitaine. Joanna is on many, many more panels than that. It’ll be super fun, you should come.

For those of you who can’t, for whatever reason, I will also be covering the whole Con for Pajiba. Unfortunately I can’t be everywhere at once, so you’ll be subject to my personal whims as to which panels I’m attending but I promise I’ll at least consider suggestions. Probably. I really do hope to see some of you there so if you’re already planning on going, let me know! We can work out a meet-up, especially if any locals have good suggestions!
