Keanu Is Wooden, Adorable In This Clip of 'Destination Wedding' With Winona Ryder

Keanu Reeves is the perfect machine for a great action film: He’s good-looking, physically fit, and only needs to deliver 20 lines, but he’s also weirdly perfect for romcoms, too. He has a wooden affect, but over the years, it’s taken on a certain charm, as well. Also, he’s good looking and physically fit.

Did I mention the good-looking part?

Here he is in a clip for Destination Wedding with Winona Ryder being wooden and charming and perfectly Keanu.

The studio behind the film, Regatta, is handling its release oddly (in fact, I thought for the longest time that it was a Netflix film). It opens on Friday, but apparently only in NYC and Los Angeles, when this should be a movie that opens on 2,000 theaters, because it’s Labor Day and what else do we have to do except watch Keanu flirt with Winona in her very thick pajamas? However, it will be released on Digital and On Demand the following week, on September 7th, which is great although it also seems like a missed opportunity given the public interest in Winona and Keanu and the sudden interest in romcoms again, driven by Netflix and Crazy Rich Asains. Seems like an easy $10-$12 million opening weekend layup. I’m not sure that Regatta truly understands the power of the Keanu/Winona combo.

But then again, what do I know?
