The Kiss Between Jonah Hill and Lauren London in 'You People' Was Not Real

We reviewed You People last week, and noted that while it was bad in any number of ways, the two leads in the romantic comedy (played by Jonah Hill and Lauren London) had “zero chemistry.” There were no sparks perhaps because it is difficult to be a convincing couple when you don’t even kiss onscreen.

Indeed, according to stand-up comedian Andrew Shulz — who played Cousin Avi in the film — the kiss the two shared during the wedding at the end of the film was created using CGI. There’s video evidence to back up his claim.

Why the two did not kiss for real in the film is not clear, although that did not prevent social media from spinning conspiracy theories ranging from funny to cruel. However, London did kiss Michael B. Jordan in their 2021 film Without Remorse, and Jonah Hill kissed Emma Stone in Superbad, so there’s no evidence that either has objections to kissing on film.
