We’re officially in Back To School Mode so it’s nice of the streaming services that we pay so much for to release a couple of movies for the kids to watch while they procrastinate on homework and school projects this fall.

On September 8th the live-action remake of Pinocchio comes to Disney+. The film is directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Tom Hanks as Geppetto, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the voice of Jiminy Cricket, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (The Haunting of Bly Manor) as the voice of Pinocchio, and Cynthia Erivo as The Blue Fairy.

In addition to that Disney version, Netflix is also releasing Guillermo Del Toro’s stop-motion version of Pinocchio in December. Dueling Pinocchios!!

Ahead of that, in November, Slumberland is coming to Netflix. Based on an early 20th-century comic series, Little Nemo in Slumberland, the Netflix movie stars Jason Momoa in a flamboyant suit, top hat, and ram horns (NGL, kinda dig it.) Kyle Chandler, Chris O’Dowd, and Marlow Barkley (Single Parents) also star in this story of a young girl (Barkley) who discovers a secret map to the dreamworld of Slumberland with the hope that she will be able to see her late father again.
