It’s time to raise some spirits
It’s time to pee with fright
It’s time for Muppet ghosts at the Haunted Mansion tonight

Calling all Muppet fans, children, and parents tired of streaming the same movies over and over. Disney+ is delivering something new to watch over and over again until we’re all heartily sick of it by Halloween. The Muppet Haunted Mansion arrives on October 8th to scare you… to death! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

OK, so it’s not actually scary. They’re the Muppets, what can you expect? The most terrifying part might be Matt Vogel’s performance as Kermit, which never sounds right. On Halloween night, Gonzo and Pepe are challenged to spend a single night in the Haunted Mansion. Spooks and jokes abound! As a lifelong Muppets fanatic I don’t expect a lot — everything since Jason Segel’s 2011 film has been mediocre at best. But that’s no reason not to give it a shot. With a cast that includes Will Arnett, Taraji P. Henson (no relation), Danny Trejo, Yvette Nicole Brown, and the truly great, late Ed Asner in one of his final performances, there are sure to be a few chuckles and groan-worthy puns. To be honest, Asner and Trejo alone are enough to get me interested; their genuine love for performing with the Muppets shines through.

This isn’t the only new Muppets project on the horizon. A Fraggle Rock reboot is on the way from Apple+. There is also a Jim Henson biopic called Muppet Man currently in development that focuses on Henson’s attempts to sell broadcasters on The Muppet Show.

Look for Muppet Haunted Mansion only on Disney+ on October 8th, and maybe share your favorite Muppet in the comments. Hint: they’re all great.
